This old saying is intended to be funny, but it's also quite wise. When people are together in a crowd, they often form into groups that don't exactly fit the stereotype of the people in that group. We all have our own personalities and when we find ourselves in a crowd with people who are very different than us it can be difficult to feel like we belong.
